In the past 40+ years, the Lord has challenged us, blessed us and provided wonderful facilities to meet the needs of His people. He continues to bless His church by bringing new families who are seeking a place to connect with Him and His people.  Our prayer is that God will continue to bless as we “Navigate People to God.”

1966

Haltom City Christian Church sends out 12 families from the church who lived in Hurst, Euless, or Bedford to plant a church in the HEB area.  The church began meeting as Bedford Christian Church at the Bedford Boys Ranch at Forest Ridge and Harwood in Bedford.

1967

Haltom City Christian Church purchased a piece of property at 920 Central Drive in Bedford and gave it as a gift to the new church as a place to build a permanent building.  Construction started soon thereafter.

1968

Bedford Christian Church starts meeting in a new facility.

1988

The church began to grow rapidly.

1990

Bedford Christian Church purchased a piece of property at the corner of Hall Johnson Road and Pool Road with the intentions of moving the growing congregation to a new site five miles north.

1994

First services held in the new building.  The church changed its name with the move and took the name of the sub-division where it was built and became known as Highland Meadows Christian Church.  The church almost doubled in size the very first week, growing from nearly 500 to well over 800.  The church went through several building phases within the new building.

2002

Our current pastor, Drew Sherman was called as Lead Pastor.

2003

Planted Compass Christian Church in Frisco with Bo Chancey as the Pastor.

2005

Major renovation to the building in Colleyville adding an indoor children’s play area and a “Gathering Place” coffee shop for our adults.

2007

April:  Launched second campus in Valley Ranch at the Hollywood Theater.
December:  Valley Ranch campus moves into new facility.

2008

February: Retroactively adopted Compass Christian Church in Frisco as our third campus.
August: Changed the name for all present and future campuses to Compass Christian Church.  Our desire was for people to know who we are, not just where we are.
September: Launched fourth campus in Roanoke.
December: The Lord blessed us with 3673 people in 8 services on 4 campuses.

2009

Averaging over 2500 in 10 services on 4 campuses. We believe the BEST days are still ahead as God blesses.
